The Beat

I have a drum.
Haven't played it for such a long time,
but always carry it beside me.
I loved to play it before this.
Now,

It's rusted, no one cleans it for a while.
It's used to be heard from a mile.
I don't remember the last time i hear a beat.
Someone punched a hole on it.
Ow...

But it seems i'm catching a sound of a drum.
Euphoric like an alcoholic, drinking rum.
A blood rush - swift like a gust,
The echoing sound of unwavering tempo.
Wow...

Oh my, I swear this is my first,
to feel the thump like this.
I touch my drum - it is pounding.
No one else feel it besides us two.
Now,

Tell me, do you feel the same beat too?

Chaos Sanctuary

If I live tonight

in search of gold,

let’s have a feast 

with rock and roll,

remember my name 

in chants and cheers,

families and friends

and bongs and beers,

For all that happens,

stays tonight, 

doors close locked tight,
unequivocally not for 

praises and preaches

(but it might in days

where porn sermonized

in raps and paperbacks)

Living in the cloud nine 

fuelled with dread,                                                                                                                                 

ups and downs

never did average,

such a chaotic life

I’ve led,

caught me alone

thinking 

of the ages, the forgotten

civilization and culture,

the past, present and future.

If I die tonight

in search for soul

let me say this 

in one go… 

Lay me down 

in peace and serenity

and strip me away

of my identity

and forget me

when I’m gone…                                                                                                                             

Just let me be 

cause I’m done.    

The dead stays dead,  

we’re set for that,

even if oceans  

of tears dried out,

it’s not us the all-might.

But roar…

and sing!

to the stories 

of the prominences,

should there be 

enlightenment 

hidden in our 

deranged histories,

should there be

any faith left,

a salvation for

a flourishing future.

Such a chaotic life 

I’ve led,

caught me alone 

pondering,

with my fingers

intertwined,

reminiscing

to every rights

I’ve left behind.
